Gary Soper Places 2nd On Rings At State

For the second season in a row, Lake Park Boys Gymnastics senior, Gary Soper has placed 2nd at the IHSA State Gymnastics Tournament on Still Rings!

In the preliminary round Gary scoreda 9.45 which tied him for second with Mike Spevack of High Park (Co-op) and right behind Downers Grove North's Dough Rybar with a 9.55.

In the finals, it was a repeat. The final judging scores are listed in the table that follows. Gary tied Mike Spevack for second in the stte behind Doug Rybar.

During the preliminary round, four other lake Park gymnasts competed. They included:

Eric Bando placed 34th on Still Rings with a score of 8.050.
Tommy Gage placed 47th on Vault with an 8.45 score.
Jon Galante placed 40th on Parallel Bars with a score of 8.15.
Tommy Gage placed 53rd on Parallel Bars with a 7.45 score
Tommy Gage placed 34th on Floor Exercise with an 8.70 score.
Frankie LaCoste placed 31st with a score of 7.95.

Congratulations to Gary Soper for medaling at state again and congratulations to all our other State Tournament qualifiers!
